He wanted his house to be designed by Le Corbusier, perhaps for a sense of national pride, right?
‘But… I want a roof’, he said.
In the end, he hired Alvar Aalto—the Finnish architect—instead.
Sometimes architecture begins with just shelter logic—stubborn demand for a roof.
