so far it's a 2:1 ratio of essays with no contemporary media topic to essays on contemporary media that i neither understand nor know about, much less care about. the first and third essay are cutesy and whimsical and carry a distinct fondness of life and nature, and the second is about a man whose work i assume was well known by orwell's peers and readers alike, but i know little about. i like it so far yaaaaay
