finally getting into this book just in time for canada day
learning lots

i haven’t heard from sansa in a while and i’m getting nervy for her

i think this is my first time actually Reading one of the game of thrones books. so far i’m glad i’ve done enough listening so i can still kinda hear the narrator saying all the cool names and places in my head. i’m also enjoying how much the temporality of the story is being played around with

i enjoy being able to take my time with this book because alot of things have happened in it

slowly but surely !

wow ! so many themes! so much has happened and so much left must be done
themes : power, desire, freedom, identity, finding your place, being an outsider / being different, control
the scene with iscend and baru brings up so many interesting questions about consent and agency. was baru right in denying her? or was it only serving a narrative of the clarified’s status as inherently incapable of personal desire?!

surprisingly i care about this book now. it’s gotten a lot better as it’s plodded along

i like baru more than usual, which is a surprise because she usually kind of sucks!

yk, the more i read this book, the more and less i simultaenously undersand

honestly cannot tell if this book is really boring or really good but it’s given me a lot of food for thought so thank you
