I wonder if the holes were simply another warning sign for the trouble that is brewing, or if they will make their way back into relevance later on. For now I am not too satisfied with the current state of matters regarding #HoleGate...

Flipped open to the first page and I am already pissed off

The past 20 pages have been sooo dull and boring

Emma treats the people in her life how a 12 year old does their dolls; taking care of their general well-being but ensuring that their life plays out the way *she* wants it to. Can't help but feel I am reading of a manipulative character, and wonder where Jane Austen will take Emma's development.

Mr. Knightley thoroughly reflects my feelings about Emma's character on this page:

''I have not a fault to find with her person.'' he replied. ''I think her all you describe. I love to look at her; and I will add this praise, that I do not think her personally vain. Considering how very handsome she is, she appears to be little occupied with it; her vanity lies another way-...''

The past hundred pages have sprung tears to my eyes, raised cortisol levels, and summoned distaste; I almost feel similarly passionate as Jane. Wow. What a book.

Reading this through The Honeywood Daily. According to another review, this project will take about 2 years, so I will update this review when there's a significant change.
