Multiple hints and romanticization of relationships between characters with questionable age differences -- one is a 50 year age gap and the other is between a woman and a minor.

It's hard to say I truly "enjoy" or "like" Murakami's work; but, I've been unable to find another literary work that emulates the exact feeling I get when I read a Murakami novel. Highlights for me include a character doing banal activities around the house leading up to the next momentous moment in the main narrative.
