The book mentioned ‘MK-ULTRA’ and it sent me down a rabbit hole…it’s insane what they were (are?) up to…

I’m reading again. Finally. The other book I was reading was accidentally returned to the library so I’m back to this one. I’m determined to make reading a proper habit again because I can’t keep on doomscrolling to hell and back every day!

The second of two library books I currently have.

I’m reading this because it’s a library book (I hadn’t been to the local library for a long time) - not because I was bored of the others, if you were wondering. Maybe I can read books concurrently?

Anyway, this is a great start - one small observation has made Hen think she lives next to a murderer…

Culture can be used as a weapon…

I *think* I was on this page. I really should find a bookmark. I don’t know why I didn’t log this when I started it a few weeks ago - I really found it hard to concentrate on it when I was reading. Was I tired or am I just totally washed? Anyway, from the very first page of this book you are quickly introduced to one facet of Israeli apartheid in an airport. It was a great hook. Looking forward to the rest of it.

Finally back reading again. I’ve found it tough to read recently, I just can’t find the motivation, especially with a phone. At Christmas I think I’m less inclined to look at screens so that’s why I’ve started now with this one. It’s certainly interesting to say the least so far about the scope of propaganda employed by the CIA. And how willing they are to work with fascists to achieve their goals…

It’s very satisfying that the chapter ended at page 100. Might just be a me thing? Anyway this is very interesting so far, I think I’m picking up on a theme of names/naming and language.

Not a murder mystery, this one. (Or, at least it’s not yet?). It’s definitely piqued my interest.

Loving it already!

I received some lovely books for my birthday and I’m reading this first. It’s lots of fun so far, just like I expected. I like how the different plot threads weave and intertwine.

I can see why this book has received lots of praise!

After reading ‘The Trees’ by the same author, this already (just one chapter read so far) feels very different in tone. Oh, and I’ve never read Huckleberry Finn and really have no idea of what the story entails…I assume that won’t be a problem…

Another Swanson book (can you tell he’s one of my favourites?) Here goes…
