Now that I’ve finished the bulk of school for the semester I can joy read again for a few weeks :) btw John Gill is still great

As a man who is devoting my early academic years to the study of John Gill, I was excited for this project and its release. Started to dive into it tonight and am already enjoying this abridged version, a worthy labor of love.

Good book thus far. Lewis Ayres is always a helpful and trusted voice in Patristics.

Reread “On God and Christ” by Gregory of Nazianzus today. As always, a wonderful read. Having matured greatly in my theological journey since I last read it a few years ago, I now have an even greater appreciation for its thorough usage of Scripture, sound arguments, orthodox theology, and emphasis on devotion over a purely intellectual ascent.

Read the section Didymus On the Holy Spirit. One of the best treatise on the Holy Spirit I have read. Thought provoking, Scripturally filled, and logically coherent. A classic for its time, and today.

This book is already altering the way I see and contemplate Nicaea.

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying this book. It’s a good blend of Scriptural grounding, tradition engaging, and Baptist distinctives.

Not bad, although I felt it was a little bias toward Anabaptists (or maybe they’re the goats). Fascinating and helpful read nonetheless.
