Ma I love Natasha Preston. I always forget how suspenseful and terrifying her books are. Like we’re in a super duper creepy abandoned castle with a sever storm coming in causing them to be trapped, with just the seven of them, and then on top of that there’s just a lot of creepy things going on. Vandalization, a sleeping bag, a person in the window. Everything is so scary I’m going to have nightmares!!!

I just did not like this whatsoever. Maybe if I actually read it during Christmas I’d would have been better, but it was just so poorly written. It felt like drive year old wrote this. The plot twists weren’t that great and I feel like April was acting like a toddler and throwing tantrums half of this book. Overall, not great and idk I just really hated it. Probably one of the worst books I’ve ever read.

Overalll, not my fav, maybe my least favorite in the series, but the tandem read was very enjoying. I can’t wait to read Kingdom of Ash. I am soooo excited. I just don’t think this book was needed. Yes, we need armies, but did we need a whole new kingdom? Idk, not my fav, but another great story by Sarah J. Maas

Aelin has all the armies she could ask for now. Hasars Armada, Sartaq and the Ruk Riders, and the Khagans personal army. This just turned the tide of the war. I love that Chaol and Yrene got married and are ready to fight together as one. I love that Yrene will one day hopefully meet Aelin, or Celaena. Finally, I think this book was needed, just kind of boring. Not too much happened and I feel like it was missing.

I didn’t expect to love them this much, but they truly made me smile, more than Chaol and Yrene. Speaking of which, I do love them as well. Yrene sacrificed herself and the choice in order to save Chaol. He was close to death, but she bonded them together meaning if one dies the other dies. All that work on healing was for nothing because Chaol is right back where he started, although slightly better.

This book has a pretty good ending. It just wasn’t very exciting for me. It was interesting to see Duva as the Valg, although I had already seen spoilers about it. We now know that there are both Valg princes and princesses. Sartaq is Heir and he and Nesryn are going to war together, coming back together, and spending the rest of their lives together. I truly do love them. I felt they were very unexpected.

I’m so excited for the next book, however, I think I’m going to take a small break and try to recover from all of this. The plot twists and ending are insane. I can’t wait to see what happens and how the ending will turn out. I really do hope and pray for Aelin, cause girl is going through jr right now and need all the support she can get. Gosh I can’t wait. I need more of King Rowan. Dorian is stepping up

Elide is pissed at him. He practically took Aelin away and gave her to Maeve while Elide watched helplessly. Although, Maeve did not get the keys, Manon has them who is taking an army of Crochans, her thirteen behind her all the way. Everyone must prepare for war, and the Cadre including Elide are on the hunt for Aelin, desperate to get her back. I don’t know if Aelin will ever be the same after this encounter.

Both Gavriel and Lorcan have be sworn off the blood oath which nearly broke them. I don’t really get it but whatever. I love how all of the happy couple we had are now destroyed. Lorcan betrayed Aelin, in order to save Elide, but still betrayed. He summoned Maeve to their exact location, knowing what the cost was. He thought he was enemies of Aelin, but after seeing what went down, he’s pretty damn broken.

I’m sure that killed her, but I’m happy that Rowan’s not too upset about, since he already suspected during the battle at Skulls Bay where she refused to harm him. THEY GOT MARRIED?!? Ugh I love that. He is the official King of Terresan and Aelin is his legal wife. The way he broke down at the end though was heartbreaking. I can only imagine how much pain he truly felt in that moment, knowing Aelin is gone.

Everything that got revealed is crazy. Maeve was making her plans millenniums ago. She knew Rowan and Aelin would be mates, but since Aelin wasn’t coming to Wendlyn, she made him get with Lyria, then killed her!!! To break Rowan he killed his supposed mate!!! Like what!?! But then Aelin came and they got their short happiness. It kills meter they could be truthful about the mating. That Aelin had to lie.

God damn bro I fucking hate Maeve. Why does she have to be so cruel. The whipping. The not counting. Cairn. Awful. She had to endure all of that, naked mind you, and still be just tortured. She has to wear an iron mask, be transported in an iron coffin, wear iron chains, only so that she cannot use her magic and escape. On the side note though, The thirteen are back!! I’m so excited. I love.

This is ending is just so insane I can’t even process it. Like Aelin knew that she and Rowan were mates and she used as much time as she could to spend it with Rowan knowing she could have a lifetime. She is willing to sacrifice herself for the lock even though she could have thousands of years with Rowan if only for a better world. It breaks my fucking heart so much. Like why?!?!?!? WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!???!?!?!?!

LYSANDRA AS AELIN? Like that was the big plan all along. That’s why they spent so much time together it’s all so that Lysandra could master the art of Aelin. Even when Aelin was gone, she would be the queen that rules Terresan. Even have Rowan’s children someday. Like absolutely bat shit crazy. It just kills me how much Aelin had to think about her death. How much she had to plan to make sure everything worked

Holy fucking shit. This ending has wrecked me. Why did they do this to meeee!!! Poor poor Aelin. I feel for that girl so hard. What she has to endure? She knew she was going to die one way or another and has literally set everyone up but herself. She has called in favors from Ansel, Ilius, Galan, and anyone else she can think of.

Finally, Maeve’s armada is here and she is the Valg Queen. We don’t know for sure why she is here, only that she wants Aelin to surrender. Also, she has Elide and is about to kill her unless Aelin steps in. Did I forget to mention that she is the Valg Queen?!? Yeah, she has pretended all these years to be Fae in reality she is not. She is manipulative and only seeks the dark power of Erawan and the keys.

All of the riddles have been solved and all of the clues have been showed as to what has helped form this plan. Brannon himself knew of the punishments and tried his very best to give Aelin any help, a form of an apology. Nehemia had also known all along. Had knew she would die, had knew she would be working with Elena in order to break Celaena into Aelin and become the queen they needed desperately.

Elena has had such a big role in this whole shaping it’s crazy. She saved Aelin in the river all those years ago, reviving her and even making Arobynn find her. All of this plan had been laid out for Aelin in the very beginning. Although, Aelin figured out the puzzle. She knew she would die soon enough and has made arrangements for those she loves. Soon, her life will come to an end, all because of Elena.

The lock only works once’s. As she begged for forgiviensss, he price to pay was that another person from her bloodline would be the person chosen to fork a new lock and stop Erawn. Aelin is the price. Nameless is my price. She must give all of her blood and magic in order to form a new lock and seal away this war forever. Without it, it will continue on. Elena has suffered knowing she has killed Aelin

Holy shit. This book is by far the best. I thought Queen of Shadows was good, boy was I wrong. We finally have the whole truth that we have been longing for this whole time. Elena’s the reason Aelin was picked for this mission. She is the reason the war is still raging. She disobeyed her father in an act of cowardness and sealed Erawan in his tomb without sealing the god and the wyrdstones in the gate.

Ughhh!! This chapter was amazing. It might be tied with the steamy one lowkey. Elide and Lorcan have reunited with the group. We finally got to see Elide and Aelin have the conversation of her mother and all that has happened in between. We got to see Lorcan be territorial over Elide and how Rowan knows Lorcan has changed. Finally, we got to see how Ellie has realized how much has happend in the time that has passsd

I love Fenrys friendship with Aelin. Although he has not know her for long, if he gets the offer to kill her, he wants Rowan to kill him first. I love that. I’m along with the cadre am very concerned with what Maeve js planning. She’s been pretty quiet and I don’t think that’s a good thing. Overall, we know something big is going to happen and we know that allies need to be made and this war is far from over

Okay so a pretty small chapter but it had a lot of information. We now know that the curse Rhiannon Crochan made was basically that until both Ironteeth and Crocha can live together, they don’t get the wastes. They can’t live on them. We alsk now know that the Eye of Elena is in correlation to the Eye of the Goddess as Manon calls it. They are the exact same symbol but with different meaning. It’s interesting

Finally, I love how they’ve discussed all of their secrets now. They both now know of the escapes and wyrdkeys. I love how they’ve discussed both tell each other that they promise to always look for the other. Basically marriage right there. They’re just so sweet and caring towards each other. Finally, the strips of linen of his shirt by her bed acting as pads?!?! I’m dead!!! So sweet!! I just love Lorcan!

I can’t believe that Vernon came back to take her. I also can’t believe that she was going to kill herself. I mean right move in the moment, but thank god Lorcan was there to stop her. It was great seeing her fight her way out of that situation and prove why she is who she is. I love how independent she is. I also love how Lorcan is willing to do anything to protect her. Like what?!?!?

Oh my gosh Elide and Lorcan!!💗💗they are so cutsie. I love the talk about periods and how much Lorcan isn’t disgusted by it and actually cares. He wants to help give her supplies, make sure that everything is normal, and is keeping track of everything. Talking about periods in romance or any book is one of my absolute favorite things. It just adds so much caring to it all.

She is the price that will be paid for either the wyrdkey, lock, gate, or the war I’m not sure which. She is Maeve’s price. What an actual crazy plot twist. Like I can’t wait to see how SJM handles this thing. I’m not sure if I was supposed to know, but after the talk of baba yellowlegs, I had to go back and see what she said. So crazy. God I can’t wait. Like what am I supposed to do with this information?

HOLY SHIT NAMELESS IS MY PRICE. After doing some research and trying to figure out why it spooked Aelin sooo hard, this is the exact same reference Baba Yellowlegs gave to Aelin. Who is an oracle and can see the future. And we know that the brow mark that she got in the first book by Elena is the mark of the Nameless along with other people in her family. Meaning!!!!!!!!!!!

Woah. So much has happened. Manon is now with the crew. They healed her and are holding her as prisoner. Her and Dorian seem to have a little thing going on. Rowan and Aelin had quite the scare. The possibility of kids did get mention. I just love Rowan. He is so fucking lots and cards so deeply. Ugh.. I think it’s good that Gavriel and Aedion are starting to warm up slightly. That’s definitely good.

I feel like we haven’t had this type of battle yet. Like we’ve had fights and assasinations, but never actually flame, sea dragon, and fighting. This war is happening. I like Fenrys and Gabriel. They seem like they mean well. We finally learned what Rolfe sold for his tattooed map. His sister and mother. I just can’t. There’s so much happening. I love this book and love this series and I love this author.
