Thought this book looked interesting, picked it up only to see my favorite rising author Hiron Ennes blurbbed it. Instantly rushed to buy, so excited to read this!

Presently very confused as to why the author (and WOTC/Larian/whoever approved this) has decided to pen this novel in the style of a middle-grade book when Baldur's Gate is rated 18+ for graphic gore and nudity. Yes, the book is Adult by legality and there's some discussion of sex and gore in it (briefly) but: 'poop' jokes (constant), 'he was dumb as an orange Tabaxi', etc the prose is written like the reader is 12

is the big reveal of this book going to be the aishi bloodline curse from fucking Yandere Simulator, known dogshit game. i do highly suspect every female in yrsa's family is born a "psychopath" as its described who craves serial killing men. that is why the previous 3 generations of women all have no husband, killed 'em. also why her mum keeps secret photos of men yrsa thinks are 'affairs' around... victims etc

fr crazy the protagonist of this book identifies as a feminist and then does nothing but belittle the women around her. She is absolutely not a girls girl and I am NOT exaggerating. Some quotes that stood out to me: "Yrsa thought she (another female) would look better with a lick of makeup", "Yrsa couldn't understand how these women could be so stupid" (SEX TRAFFICKING VICTIMS) and many more coming in my full review
