SelinaW is 40% done with Throne of Ice and Blood (Flame and Thorns, #2)

So I am nearly half way in and it feels as if the issues from the previous book have multiplied, rather than resolved. Selina continues to be blissfully naive and with ten good choices in front of her, manages to pick the bad one. Draven continues to be mysterious as to his motives. Other reviews are mentioning some plot movement towards the end, so I am hanging on for now.

Ok… is it only me or would a lot of the plot of thus book get resolved faster if someone talked to FMC? Feel like I am reading a detective, where everyone knows who the killer is but keeping it silent. Skeptical for the remaining 10% to sort it all out…

SelinaW is 60% done with From Blood and Ash (Blood and Ash, #1)

Kind of struggling with this one. I expected to love it based on the blurb, fantasy tropes I enjoy and yes, well… hype. This, like ACOTAR, may just not be for me. The writing is good and crisp but this is more YAish to me than adult fantasy? At 60% in things are still pretty slow and I am struggling rooting for any of the MCs.

SelinaW is 50% done with Iron Flame (The Empyrean, #2)

The pages turn themselves but it’s an impressively long book at 900 pages. Just got to half way and feel like it could have ended there and picked up in the next one. Finding this has a lot of moments where the audience screams “don’t do it” and Violet still does it. Excited to see how the last half turns out!
