This one is actually fun. Lots of things happening, good street and secondary characters use/dynamics. enjoyable! It's cliché though. But this is cozy romance, so it will do --and I like it!

I would pick the police officer over the wizard in a heartbeat and that's a shame because fuck the police

he just seems so sweet. I'm curious about where this plotline is going.

Oh! The way you can grow attached to the characters in such real ways. They're so alive and flawed you can almost feel and touch them and hear them move around the house and eat and smile to each other and... aghh. It got me, it got me.

I can't say I'm having fun reading this because fun is not the good word, but I feel like the book is holding my heart in a very warm blanket. very tight

This is sweet :(. I don't really know how to feel about it so far, but I like how it's written, and I really like the literary side of it--you truly get into memories and sweet little facts about who Zaffre and Etoine are and how they feel about each other. Griffon feels like my own kid, ohhh. The worldbuilding is quite interesting and I'm intrigued.

I like it for now! But how much--that I don't know yet.

I can't believe it took me like 60% of the book to put it down and go for a walk. what the fuck

1. I really like whatever this is but it's. unhinged...
2. The prose is not my style but for some reason it does work here so it's alright. Good page turner!
3. The horror element is not so strong but oh boy the messiness and gore is on point
4. I am going to start hunting cis men

I love the energy going on here. These books are so silly....
I love Malo and Din's dynamic ! I love Ana and Din's to pieces, the best thing.
Also I miss Strovi. Din is so not over him, that's kinda sad.
I hope they do get together in what, say book 4 of 5? the Strovi family drama set up is so HERE. cmon RJB !

Hiron Ennes so good I'm abandonning all books on the side of the road just so I can read my other favorite weird science-fantasy-wet dog-sleep deprived-in debt protagonist sexy book🙈
A Trade of Blood soon !!! It's crazy I haven't read this one yet though. Din is literally my profile picture on here and everywhere LOL

so.... the prose in this is kind of not my thing, I feel ? It's NOT purple AT ALL but still it manages to sound pretentious in a way that bothers me a bit.

I also thought it would be more serious (I love humor but this kind maybe is not mine ? Idk... We'll see !)

Very excited about this one. Just read the first few pages, it's already quite good.
Gay french people and beast of guévaudan, this seems like my kind of book.

Hiron Ennes what is wrong with you?

"And suddenly I'm trembling like the last leaf at the end of a frosted branch. I can't tell him about the rest of the tree."

PLEASE, this is unfair. The writing is so good.
Also, I like the danger of this author's work fr. The way they write characters you want to root for but you're never sure if you SHOULD or not, it's so entertaining !

so there's this character I'm starting to like....

Should I be worried ? Should I be fucking worried ? Don't Works Of Vermin me again.

The prose is excellent, and I love the main POV (a parasite hivemind, slayy). Great stuff. I'll read everything this person has written tbf, their work is so imaginative, weird, queer and twisted, in many many ways.

You know this book is written by a queer person (I mean, I don't want to assume but,) because of all the divas put in there. (Also maybe because of the crazy amount of gay people I fear)

But really, pure diva characters. The "uppercity" povs are STELLAR ?? So many good lines. There's Florian the incel which I love, Elpseth the bitch, Demetrius the diva,.... Someone kill these people because they deserve it though

I might be obsessed with this ¿¡? ¿?!¿!!!

Honestly the beginning was CRAZY good but right now ? Golly goodness. This book is so freaking funny, horrendous and tender. It's 100% going to be in my top5 of this year.

Oh my god.The prose is so good, really, it's so nasty and disgusting and beautiful, poetic, sometimes almost romantic. And freaky freaky, damn.

Guy's POV or I die🤚🤚

SFF weird lit (!!!) mixing baroque, arts, biopunk vibes, perfumes and smells, body horror and INSECTS !!!. Literally.. How. AHGH.

This feels very Perdido, very Ambergris, very Morrowind, very The Tainted Cup/A Drop of Corruption.

I might cry of joy !!! It's going to be a long read because the prose is AMAZING but kinda hard to read for a non native.

This book truly is something. Like what is it ? Is it dark and traumatic politics/family issues or is it fucking comedy ???
I feel like I'm reading three different books at the same time, the third option being the gay sex^tm, lol. (This part is actually alright. It's in character !)

Fun read honestly. I can't believe I actually enjoy this ahahaha. But it's great, really.

Just read the first chapter, this is one of the books I chose for the r/fantasy 2026 bingo (one word title).

oh my god🥹. Lancelot is my favorite Arthurian character and, ugh, the first chapter ? I love him so dearly in this book already.
He likes horses and foxes and birds.

(I bet the author is a fan of Robin Hobb because I can smell Fitz-like behavior from this)
