Frankie’s brother Fin went to fight in the war, just like all the men in their family did before him. Frankie wanted to be a hero too after Fin’s friend told her women can be heroes so she enlisted in the army (after the navy and the Air Force turned her away for not having enough bedside experience). After she enlisted and told her parents, they found out her brother died.
