It shouldn't take me this long to finish this book, but it's so...blah. I think I'm going to skip ahead.

This book is a snoozefest. Not sure why I'm not connecting to the characters.

I was hooked by page 2...

Especially enjoying Dr. Knatokie Ford's story. #blackgirlsrock

Just read the phrase "his eyes went chink" to describe a character smiling. What!? 😯The only reason I'm finishing this book is because I LOVE the other author in this series. No, ma'am to this casual prejudice.

I'm so loving this book. Right up my alley.

Seriously, how many times do you need to mention someone's blonde streaks? After the fifth time, I really do get it. She has blonde streaks in her hair. Ugh...

Maaaaaaan, this essay on Phillis Wheatley's husband has me ready to give this book 5 stars already.

I've read a few authors who started out as okay writers but greatly improved with each book they put out. E. Lynn Harris, for example. Zane is not one of those authors.
