No lie I feel dumb reading this book. Is it me or is the writing style just a bit all over the place? This is the first book where I have to read summary chapters (where the writing is more clear than the book) to understand what I just read...

Just an intro to the characters and world, cyber punk like. Not a huge fan of the writing style at the moment, everything is a bit all over the place but willing to give the plot a chance.

Clarke met the guy who should've smuggled him out the demanded ransom, Clarke killed him. Then an old man who is the boss of smuggling offered help. Turns out the bad guy was the original guy's cousin who got there early to try and Rob.
Midaz managed to talk his way out of the police station with his believable backstory and personality. The police seems convinced he ain't a part of the Clarke/Girl manhunt.

Side story of CIA agents in Albania interviewing escaped Uygers, as well as in Kazakhstan.
Another side plot of the doomed Chinese submarine, one of them shot himself up to the artic in brutal fashion. Now under the hands of Americans sailing with an Ice breaker.
POTUS invited moon to the white house personally.
It's just alright so far.

John sneaking into China,
Lots and I mean lots of human rights abuse in the xinjiang part.
Very uncomfortable look into the social credit system. A possible future in the UK seeing how things are going.

Ding and everyone got blown out of their helicopter with an attack on a Viet Oil rig inside the 9 dash lane.
Ding and Clarke reunited with JP Ding's son as well as Robby Jackson's nephew and spilled the beans on their real jobs.
CAMPUS now will try and figure out who the mole is before extracting lady/girl from Xinjiang.

Interesting plot so far, sonar engineer heard screams under ice in the Antarctic.
MMS agents unable to find a missing scientist even with the mass surveillance in China. And seems a CIA agent killed the loose ends? Rare POV where the Americans are the bad guys (for now seeing the MMS agents are now dead).

Finally finished. Holy shit that was long and dragged like hell to the point where I didn’t care anymore. Will write my thoughts more later. Will be a long review

The dawnchants have been translated. Turns out the humans were the voidbringers the whole time. And the parshmen were the true natives to Roshar the whole time. Wow. Actually a good plot twist. Humans accidentally destroyed their original world with surgbinding

Taking back all my critiques, the build up is worth it. The seige of Kholinar was brutal and a great read. Kinda understanding Shallan's identity crisis, seems it drove her mad too like me.
Can't believe I doubted Sanderson for a second.

Wow. So Talanan betrayed Dalinar and almost got the best of him. We found out how Dalinar accidentally killed his wife with flames. Brutal section of the book Jesus Christ. Good stuff though. And we found out Talebs backstory “join or die”

Ok I'm back on it. Kaladin joining the local army and even Azure in Kholinar has got me interested again. Always a huge fan of everything involving Kaladin. Azure gave a pretty good speech too about defending your culture being a must.
Loved Dalinar's flashback of making peace with long time rival in the rift with words and not violence, which was a plot twist of itself.
Veil still boring as shit, hate Shallan lmao.

Y'all... I'm STRUGGLING so far. A lot of yapping, no plot going forward, more yapping over nothing. Shallan somehow becoming the most boring character especially when she turns into Veil. A lot of nothing happening, with the final 10 words per chapter being interesting, a hook to bring me back then even more nothing.
