I have literally snort-laughed ½ dozen times already and highlighted at least 10 passages, some because the writing is so lovely and some because these are the jokes I make with my girlfriends (and we are hilarious).
A good read-alike for Rosie Danan, Lucy Score, Kylie Scott, Sarina Bowen, maybe Penny Reid. I'd also say Ali Hazelwood, tho not so STEM-focused.

off to a good start

If 50 Shades didn't feature sadomasochism and had been written by a scorchingly intelligent woman with legit feminist cred, it would be Trade Me. I am quite enamored of Tina, Blake, and Ms. Milan.

This was on a "beach book" list I read, so I put it on hold from the library. For some reason, I had it in my head that this was a juvenile/YA book, and I kept thinking "Hmm, not sure who the intended audience is here? Not sure 12 yos want to read descriptions of fluffy little animals going through alcohol withdrawal...."

Very different from most of my other reading this summer; I am suspending judgment for now.

Started liking this book a lot more after approx. p. 140. We'll see.

30 pages in, this is my favorite Jodi Picoult yet. Not that that's saying much.

Really liking it so far, but a little uneasy about continuing because so many people rip the ending....
Still, dogs! Lots of'em.

...and I need to finish by tomorrow....

Love Bill Bryson- he's so very readable.
