I’m getting really invested in this book, it’s just hard and annoying to read

I was inspired to pick this book up because of the movie and the song by kate bush. so far it’s confusing but i heard it’s good. we’ll see.

the first chapter was pretty good. i was wondering what the point was but it was really interesting, funny, and humanizing indeed

a lengthy introduction.

Well I finished the first part. Nastasya’s soirre was definitely interesting. Although it confused me at times. Nastasya is a bitch though idk why she’d tell the prince she was gonna marry him just to take Rogozhin’s offer. And she made him cry. Poor prince. what’s crazy though is this whole part only takes place in like 2 days so I guess the rest of the story is only now beginning.

i can’t lie that part where the general threw the lap dog out the window lowkey made me so uncomfortable i can’t 🫩

it took me quite a while to get through part 1 chapter 8 and i was honestly getting confused and bored, but thankfully it set the stage for the very bitchy Nastasya Fillipovna who everybody has been gassing up since the beginning. glad she’s finally here to spice up the story.

amazing chapter. the story of Marie was very sad. i want to get into the bread and butter of this story but ik it needs a lot of build up to be really good.
