lance and sue (mi5 agents) have begun having regular chats with lomax (the man with the diamonds and crime). as of now, if the diamonds aren’t discovered and returned, he’s a dead man.

ibrahim helped watch the cctv footage and is now helping donna get along with her life. while they didn’t find the diamonds in the locker, elizabeth reveals the numbers were mirrored! also poppy did it! her mom, siobhan, is too

the gang has met patrice, donna’s mom and chris’s new partner. we’ve also met kendrick! ron’s grandson who is very similar to ibrahim. it makes more sense why him and ron are best friends.

douglas also let a (spy!) note for elizabeth, letting her know that the diamonds were hidden in a locker (newsflash: it was kind of a red herring) and if they were gone, it was alive. and if still there, really dead

jenny’s journal: love the way richard osman writes. writing in 3rd person allows us to travel with different characters and see their insights on different events.

so far, joyce’s ex husband as appeared, looking for help as he’s stole diamonds from a crime man. ibrahim has been attacked but is out of the hospital. elizabeth, rob, and bogdan have handled it though

i’m alternating between reading and listening to the audiobook. i really like mr. snicket’s form of story telling, trailing off about the definition or words or connecting back to his old stories. for the plot, it’s definitely a little all over the place and am still unsure what exactly the goal is

so far so good, there’s not a ton of lead up before hearing about the murder but it’s not a huge deal if you’ve read his other books first.

so far, good! kind of a strange beginning with a LOT of throwbacks to the first book. not necessarily in a bad way, but definitely feeds into the writing style

i’ve been listening to this via audiobook and so far, it’s been a little confusing trying to remember how each characters are related to each, the narrator, and each of their secrets. so far, i like the author’s casual, friend-like writing style
