when john Fowles writes a really interesting and complex relationship between two adults but then drops this nuclear bomb of a sentence on you:
“Those gentle but penetrating brown eyes, searching his; something oddly virginal about her at that moment, of a schoolgirl, a seventeen-year-old frightened at what her elder self had done”
😔😔😣

„dialectical inevitability“ … so true

the longest book ever written,, john fowles you make me so happy

weird man with goatee…polemical rich and informative analysis sofar

hauke endlich deichgraf jetzt kanns losgehen

mmmhh…sometimes i dont understand why some things are deemed a classic

bisher tolles leseerlebnis

have read online that this book is full of misogyny,, cant wait to read the chapter on woman of color…

how refreshing to read a book that doesnt try to trick you into not reading it (looking at you catch22)

the guy that wrote the introduction to this novel is crushing so hard on j.a. baker!! so cute

gotta love the british 👍
