this is a difficult book to understand and retain, but i’m still quite fascinated. it may be coming from a place of confirmation bias. interested to see what Camus has to say

“But I have a new love for that glittering instrument, the human soul. It is a lovely and unique thing in the universe. It is always attacked and never destroyed — because ‘Thou mayest’.

this part of the book is going to sit with me for quite awhile. no wonder this is a classic

this is one of the most dense books i’ve ever read, but it’s also equally beautiful

oh i’m in for something SPECIAL

very fascinating concept. eldritch/cosmic horror has always been one of my favorite concepts for a genre, but i haven’t really delved into any of the literature. but one chapter in, and i’m already invested in the whole concept of antimemetics

one of the best monologues of the entire series. 3 full pages of pure aura

holy fuck

never have i wanted to throw a book at a wall more in my entire life

it wasn’t even foreshadowing, it was just THERE. THE WHOLE TIME
