Ridiculous overuse of epithets so far. Painful, as the writing is great otherwise. Search and replace it will have to be, or I'll never get through this.

Clunky, mediocre writing. Super disappointing, although maybe I expected too much given the awesome cover.

The writing style is still irritating, and now there's some weird misogyny too. Gonna push through and finish this but I'm baffled at all the 5-star reviews this got.

Again, really annoying writing tics, like excessive exclamation points, italics and cutesy phrases. Maybe her angsty books are less irritating about that. Or this author just isn't for me.

Forcing myself through this one. It's not even bad, I'm just not connecting with the characters or anything happening here.

So many 'the other mans'. It's killing me. Good otherwise, which makes the epithets more frustrating.
