I’m tiring a little of Cathy in this instalment (or maybe just the fact that everyone and their mother is in love with her), but as with the first novel, the dive into trauma responses, the trials and tribulations of burgeoning female sexuality, and the well-crafted way VC writes oblivious mental instability so well continues to be a treat!

Listening to this one on audiobook but may transition back to reading it for myself when I have the time! I’ve been so sucked into this universe, I love it. I do feel/fear that with multiple sequels this may veer into a sort of adult Series of Unfortunate Events territory but I’m engrossed so far! Oh, Chris…
