looove a book with different pov’s!

I’ve had this book on my shelf for years. I have picked it up and put it down for years, barely able to get past the first several pages (for reasons I don’t know). But now that I’ve muscled through the first several pages once more, the world of Coates has opened and I am fully immersed! Although I’ve just started I am already seeing similarities between Coates’ work and that of A Fire Next Time.

i think reading this in middle school/ early high school would’ve been really helpful for me. and i think that if she she wanted to she could write a more updated memoir(?). considering all of the success that has since followed this book.
