It almost feels like the end of a book rather than the beginning of one, everyone spouting off their best bits of wisdom and getting ready for their respective final tasks, but in that sense it’s reading as a classic finale, maybe even giving ATLA finale??

Finally finally finally I just finished my reread of the first four, an undertaking that took I don’t even know how long, 6 months, a year?? But that’s okay journey before destination babyyyy!!!

Y’all wtf why don’t we get to experience the things listed as canonically interesting in this universe, it’s Cain vs. Ruko and we’re just completely glossing over the first part of their confrontation??

A little less convinced by the world-building as we progress, also the combat trials amongst these great contenders are unbelievably boring/kind of glossed over?

I just can’t think of one reason why Theo blindly hangs on to Boris’s every word, like there’s going along with a plan you don’t know the specifics of, and then there’s what Theo’s doing which is some weird form of imprinting that at this stage in his life and the time they’ve spent apart literally makes no sense

Good but depressing shit, kind of a slog at this point, even re-entry of Boris was not the shot of adrenaline I thought it would be
