I swear I can't wait for it to end. The last couple of chapters were so heavy to read that I got disappointed. Sometimes it is not worth reading about traumatic experiences.

Second read of this book and I still think it's Christie's masterpiece!

The plot starts getting spicy halfway so I'd advise to be patient. Very nicely placed breadcrumbs in the dialogues, intriguing character backgrounds revealed, the investigation finally starts! ☺️☺️

Very calm and uneventful read. As if the first 8 chapters is just a long interlude into what's gonna happen. I am not sure if the sole process of Miss Marple's sleuthing in this book is meant to be slow or the clues are placed in dialogue rather than action. So far, I am trying to find something exciting in this book, but nothing much surprises me. It's like Caribbeans don't even exist in this book.

Murakami's writing goes down smooth like a good liquor. I find myself in many of his books. Although sometimes it contains some disturbing imagery, it also covers the depth of human experience - and the experience itself can be disturbing. All in all, this is a beautiful book. Hope I don't get disappointed when I reach the end.

I know this is not the most popular book or highly ranked, at least by my favorite podcasters, but I absolutely adore the dialogue driven plot and the way people's memories and testimonies can make a good murder mystery on its own. I wish there was a little more action cause this is a classic investigation that almost mimicks the procedural one based on interviews but this book deserves more credit for sure.

The more I read, the more I'm overwhelmed because every chapter needs to be processed on its own after reading... yet I can't stop reading. One of those books that you can drown in. I fully recommend it ❤️
