Some memoirs are edited to high hell, — others are tasteless, ghostwritten cash grabs from famous non-writers — but it only takes a page or two to see that THIS story will be served to us in Bourdain’s uniquely piquant voice, like meat morsels in a boiling broth. There are moments I agree with him and others I do not, but at this point, his consistent, unapologetic, authentic voice is what I respect the most.
