On pause will prob finish this over Xmas got a lil bored

Heard lots of good recs for this but haven’t read something that’s an obvious fanfic before and very worried it will ruin Harry Potter for me. Note for my audiobook lovers - theres a pretty good audio for this is on Spotify labelled as a podcast so you can listen for free if you’re keen.

This is quite good as an audiobook! Very hunger games vibes, only note is I wish the challenges were a bit more challenging

I’ve read this before but still have to pause rn cause I know things are about to get bad for the characters. Realising my biggest character flaw is that I am terribly sensitive to suffering of imaginary people

Struggling with this book because pace is veeeery slow and nothing exciting is really happening

Been really enjoying this book but the second to last chapter came out of the blue to give a side story with trigger warning material but I don’t think I heard a warning. Also the last couple chapters Alyson starts turning into an inner self wellness coach which I find kind of annoying

Feeling more grateful for my own workplace

Ive always really liked Alyson, they always come across quite normal and level headed in the interviews I’ve seen. Book is quite good so far and surprise surprise Alyson is another example of how child actors being exploited

This lady drops rogue stories left, right and centre. People tell me I do that but my lawd, what do you actually mean that you had like 10 parents growing up and were orphaned like 6 times? Does not help the fact that the narrator of audiobook is so happy while telling these. Regardless, can tell this will be 5 star book!

Loving Irish accents in audiobook

It’s a good-ish autobiography but I will say there’s a lot of her blame-casting onto other people. Quite a lot is deserved of the other people but at some point you have to acknowledge that you are responsible for how you respond to situations that happen. Also themes of cosplaying as poor, hypocrisy, spinelessness, and ignorance of the wider world which give me the ick.

I knew they were gonna ruin my girl Frankie’s life. Had to take a break from reading it I was so sad but will likely resume and finish this today. Still the best book I’ve read in recent memory.

This is the best book I’ve read in memory already. It feels like the book should be wrapping up but I’m only halfway so I suspect I have gotten to a substantial turning point in the plot and I am cold sweating at my desk over what the authors gonna do to my bestie Frankie

Picked this up again, listened to 25%, and now once again thinking of putting it down for a while. Need a palate cleanser fr.

Still not really loving this, it’s very mopey, spiritual and the jokes don’t land with me, gonna finish it for book club but don’t recommend

Soooooo many complicit people at all levels of wealth turning a blind eye for largely reasons of greed it seems ): so sad

Did not realise he was born working class, so gross that he went on to prey on low income girls later on knowing he could manipulate them with money ):

Half the book is work stories which are hilarious and the other half is her just talking about her personal life which is 50/50 whether it is funny or not and most of that is just funny cause of the English slang. If you are expecting this to be like Adam Kay’s This is going to hurt then you will be disappointed (coming from personal experience)

I really liked the start to this book! 90% of books I read I hate the intro so am very hopeful I’ll like this (:

Very interesting writing style, definitely picking up that they want a male audience and also feel like I can tell the author is a dude as well by how they’ve written the female characters? Anyways I’m enjoying it

Finally reading a book that has an interesting beginning, the drought of starting a book that’s interesting from page one has lasted too long.

Started reading this in the hopes I would hate it to get back at Jaimey for not rating one of my fav books 5 ⭐️
