When I am 25 pages into a book and already telling my husband about the premise in great delight, it's a great book. O'Farrell is a genius. Don't want to spoil this for others. But read it.

DNF, just could not get into this….

The writing is painfully bad and I absolutely HATE the narrator. Still reading, if only out of fascination at how bad it is.

My thanks to BookSirens for the ARC of this book for my free and unbiased review. I really struggled with the style of Rakesfall. I put it down a number of times and just could not fully engage. Sadly, I wound up DNF’ing at about 30%. However, that could be a function of my own reading preference rather than the quality of the project. Just not my cup of tea.

A gorgeous novel so far. I imagine this will find its way to several awards and best-of lists when it is published in 2024.

Drags a bit in the Rowan/Morgaine, he said/she said midsection. Downshifts to more of an annoying slog.
