Were I still the man Eo knew, I would have stood frozen in horror. But that man is gone. I mourn his passing every day. Forgetting more and more of who I was, what dreams I held, what things I loved. The sadness now is numb. And I carry on despite the shadow it casts over me.

That is the scheme of the Society. To prosper, your superior must prosper. As I found a patron in Augustus, so must the lowColors find their own in me. It breeds a loyalty of necessity to Golds that the Color system itself cannot create by mere dictation.

For seven hundred years, my people have been enslaved without voice, without hope. Now I am their sword. And I do not forgive. I do not forget. So let him lead me onto his shuttle. Let him think he owns me. Let him welcome me into his house, so I might burn it down.

“You do not follow me because I am the strongest. Pax is. You do not follow me because I am the brightest. Mustang is. You follow me because you do not know where you are going. I do.”

This is a 7 stars kind of book

First page, jaw dropped, what about HELLO.

The monologues of the MC , GOLD

My inheritance was the knowledge that love is always in the air, always a possibility, and always worth it.

Once upon a time, there was nothing but kissing, and everything was perfect. And then there was even more kissing.

But the problem with hope was also what made it so wonderful. Once a bit of hope had come to life, it was difficult to kill.

It felt as if she’d found a bit of her old self. And it was one of her favorite pieces. It was the part of herself that loved to hope. She’d forgotten how hope could make colors brighter and feelings warmer, how it could shift thoughts from what wasn’t to what was possible.

All Evangeline cared about was that she was going to forget about him.Her breath was short, and her heart was pounding—she feared that at any moment it might just give out. And he was standing there eating an apple.

If only she knew

For tonight, I’m yours 🥺🥺

“Now, did you want something? Or just my attention?”
