When women understand chemistry, they begin to understand how things work. I’m referring to atoms and molecules. The real rules that govern the physical world. When women understand these basic concepts, they can begin to see the false limits that have been created for them.

She did not know how men were. They either wanted to control her, touch her, dominate her, silence her, correct her, or tell her what to do. She didn’t understand why they couldn’t just treat her as a fellow human being, as a colleague, a friend, an equal, or even a stranger on the street, someone to whom one is automatically respectful...

It’s the ones who never loved you enough that come to you when you can’t sleep.

When you find that rare person who really knows who you are and they still don’t love you… I was burning.

Farmers and doctors and artists and plumbers and whatever. Monks of other gods. Old people, young people. Everybody needed a cup of tea sometimes. Just an hour or two to sit and do something nice, and then they could get back to whatever it was.

The ecosystem required the elk to be afraid in order to stay in balance. But elk don’t want to be afraid. Fear is miserable, as is pain. As is hunger. Every animal is hardwired to do absolutely anything to stop those feelings as fast as possible. We’re all just trying to be comfortable, and well fed, and unafraid.

If you watch a nest of ants for a while, you’ll see them react to all sorts of stimuli. Food, threats, obstacles. They make choices. Decisions. It’s incredibly logical—strict, as you say. Food good, other ants bad. But can an ant perceive beauty? Does an ant reflect on being an ant? Unlikely, but maybe. We can’t rule it out.

Is the world such an evil place, that love should be indistinguishable from the basest and most abusive forms of violence?

Anger and resentment are two of the most toxic emotions we can feel. There are always times when people infuriate us or hurt our feelings but we don’t confront it. Instead we just let these negative feelings grow wild within us.
