uuuuuuuuugh... This was going so well. Then she made some unwise decisions, but I got it. Now she's being so so dumb...

I’m assuming this writing quirk is to give the novel a more fantasy feel, but whenever people reference a place name having them say “the x called x” gets really annoying. Along the road called Wide (which was narrow) between the cities called Blah and Blah that were calling the sea called Blah”… it’s a lot. Also the main character is insufferable.

Wow, minutes into the audiobook and it's already gruesome and wise and weirdly beautiful.

Okay... I'm listening to this as an audiobook and I'm not needing it to be porn or something, but the female reader narrates as if she's reading a romantasy, but the male reader performs with a sort of stern, but low emotion, theatricality so... some of these scenes are like ten times as awkward to hear.

Wow, they are going to have to redeem the make lead quite a bit for this to work for me. Ha.

Well, that first story was quite odd...

Very lovely first story but I should have realized why it was called The Goodbye Cat.

A lot of exposition and pretty repetitive so far…

Enjoying this so far, but do you ever listen to a nonfiction audiobook and little things here and there have you thinking, "Yes, this was written by a Man"?

I have rarely been sone immediately and completely invested in a book. Chapter one was utterly addicting. Why do I have to go to work today? (Okay, because the boss is buying us the best Indian food in town…)

The first two stories -- The Wishing Pool and the Window Haint are the devastating kind of horror, rather than the gory-creepy kind. So well done.

Oof. That last story was chilling in all the ways the darkest fairy tales are. I think it was called Snare.

Wow. Frozen Finger is a phenomenal — and creepy — story. So far I guess we are two for three in this collection. :)
