What an excellent introduction, thoughtfully placing Alan Villiers in his time and context. Beautiful quotes. I get the sense that he was a sensitive and unpretentious writer.

I always find poetry to be challenging - but wow, this translation is beautiful. I find myself struggling with the equal and opposite desires of wanting to sit and dwell in each poem and to continue on to the next.

Beautiful prose, but I keep starting and then stopping this book because I am actually afraid of the emotional damage this book will inflict on me.

I’m not sure I’m ready to have my heart stomped on all over again by Robin Hobb but let’s gooo!
