How many times can someone reference putting a knife to someone’s throat/ put a knife to someone’s throat before it’s reasonable for me to want to put a knife to their throat? Asking for a friend. Obviously

Sometimes I love starting a new book in a new world. Sometimes I hate it. I feel the latter. I fear if this doesnt get good I'm going to go into a book slump. My attention span is crap right now.

Still unrelated: I was right, I have the plague that everyone around me also seems to have.

Completely unrelated to the book, but I think I am starting to get the plague that everyone around me seems to be getting. I feel like I'm about to spend a ton of time reading.

Really concerning, but immersive...

I have some questions:
1.) Is this book supposed to be slightly (more than slightly) problematic?
2.) Is this supposed to be like a think piece about- like- childhood relationships that probably shouldn't happen?
3.) Is Eleanor a cannibal or is she just really (I mean really really) bad at wording her thoughts? Or is her thoughts supposed to be funny? I don't know.
I'm fairly concerned...
