So far Hazel and Frank ga semenarik Leo and Piper, maupun Annabeth and Grover.

So far, this book's been pretty interesting, but it's unnecessarily long. I feel like a lot of the narration could've been cut, and there's quite a bit of repetition since the story switches between three different characters' perspectives.

"William Wilson"

Pretty interesting concept. The idea of being haunted by someone who's basically your own reflection, constantly trying to stop you from doing bad things, makes for an intriguing psychological story. I like the whole concept of fighting against a version of yourself that you just can't seem to escape.

"The Pit and the Pendulum"

Boring. The whole story revolves around the protagonist trying to escape different death traps, but the tension gets repetitive after a while.

"The Black Cat"

anjirr, psychopathhh 😭 I like this one. We get to experience something genuinely disturbing, but the narrator tells the whole thing as if what he's doing is completely normal. That contrast makes it even more unsettling.

"The Masque of the Red Death" and "Some Words with a Mummy".

Pretty cool concepts. One's about trying to escape death, while the other brings an ancient mummy back to life to question how advanced modern civilization really is. Simple ideas, but pretty interesting. And I like the twist in the ending.

"The Oblong Box" is at least less boring than the previous story, but... it still feels underdeveloped. The ending's pretty predictable, and there's not much horror or suspense to it. It's just... okay, I guess.

Sejauh ini, dari semua cerita antologinya, "A Descent Into The Maelstrom" jadi cerita paling BORING. Dia yapping soal nama lokasi peta dan hal hal navigasi lainnya, meanwhile ceritanya sendiri ketutupan sama semua istilah navigasi dan nama nama pulau dan tempat yg dijabarin disitu. Plotnya sendiri ga semenarik itu dan dangkal banget.

It's a good anthology book. The first and third stories are compelling, mindblowing, but the second one is ambiguous, I don't really get it.

Banyak mini subplotnya dibanding filmnya "man called otto" ofc, but not bad, easy to read.

It's a long build up before the final battle.

Baru nyentuh tipis tipis setelah sebulanan lebih dibeli, somehow udh mulai bosen baca Percy.

Fourth story - Tomo-chan’s Happiness

A quiet story about finding happiness in small, unexpected ways. It shows how life can still feel warm and meaningful even after bad things or loneliness, not through big changes, but through simple feelings. Yeh it's still about the absurdism of life.

Finally forced myself to touch this book, and 🥲, the language is very classic. Speed reading incoming.

Second story - Mama!

A very grounded and slow story about processing trauma and finding meaning in it. What’s interesting is how a bad experience doesn’t stay purely negative, but turns into something that brings awareness and even a sense of beauty.

First story - House of Ghost

I want to yap but the space to write is limited.

The first story is quiet and reflective, it leaves a soft sense of acceptance about life and relationships. Feels like a gentle form of absurdism, where meaning isn’t big or dramatic, but found in small, everyday moments.
