Slowly but surely making my way through this -- made entirely possible by my daily commute, with special thanks to the w e r k z a a m h e d e n further extending my journey

decided to use intimidating books as my metro reads, since it went really well for getting through Kafka on the Shore. Now this one, which is weirdly similar in the directionless character + unnecessary sexual stuff, but I'm curious to see where it goes!

tried to get into it before and it wasn't the right time, but now I'm having a great time with it reading it on the metro every day listening to the twin peaks soundtrack

There's only one way this can end that won't make me hate the book at this point

Really good and at the same time a little hard to get through because it is quite monotonous, I suppose. I really want to try and keep my reading flowing this year so putting this down for the evening and getting another book started!

So good I'm literally giddy while reading. Like honestly so many essays and books and talks are just so similar to each other and Baudrillard's originality is just riveting! Not only that but he also comments on the cultural homogeneity that made the global north so susceptible to an event like 9/11 and i feel like that's such an important point and also i feel like it might be why trump has such a broad appeal toorn

This wasn't advertised as a moral dilemma kind of book and that's also really not my thing lmaoo

This was one of my most anticipated releases of 2025 and it absolutely slaps.

not only have i forgotten what was going on in this book; I've completely forgotten everything that went on in the previous books except for lighthouse slug. Think I'll have to reread them first

rereading bc I wanted to continue in the series but remember very little and realised it's been 8 years since I read number 1 and 6 or so since number 2

His writing is SO fun.

Not enjoying the book that much, but I DID find the perfect soundtrack to it (Albéniz's Suite Espanola Asturias)

It's okay, but not really sucking me in so far. Also, the writing is really mid.

It's one of those typical books where I love the backstory/mythology around the plot, but really don't care for the action scenes and the characters-just-interacting-scenes.

I'm enjoying this book so much!

This does not spark joy. I will only read a few sections that are absolutely necessary, but won't confront myself with Cantor and the Kant-Hegel chapter, lol.

I constantly get super confused by minor threads of his arguments, but I think i've figured out the issue. When he's talking about things like 'states' and 'change,' he's talking about them as absolute realities, something which I fundamentally disagree with as I see them as labels imposed by us, and if you see it like that, the arguments stop making sense to some extent.

I have regained The Analytical Philosophy Headache.

Starting this again! No idea if I have the skills to understand this lol but it was assigned to me (and I read the many parts I needed to) when I was 19, soooo let's see if I became smarter or dumber lol

I wish I loved this, but it's honestly a bit..... just okay.
