Stoppp!! I can’t! Enough! So many other books to read I have to take a break on this one. This is wayyyyyy too long. Yes, I get the message, feminism and all, that’s deep, especially for that time period... but the way to expose it.... I can’t... and what makes it worse: NO chapters! Nope, stop, I’ll come back later sir!

Hmmm. 45 pages in... a single woman talking pages after pages about cleaning a house and an old woman’s shit and pee (those words are used)... stop, no thank you, I need something more intellectual... sorry mr King, not interested :( I’ll come back some other time

Oh my... what to say... it IS compulsively readable, just wow... I was enticed by the plot line from the start and I was sooo glad I didn’t read the description on the back cover as it would have spoiled my experience of this novel. I LOVED not knowing and being kept in a mystery in which we could only get a couple of clues here and there which kept the reader thinking, projecting and guessing all the time...
