I’m becoming a prose snob, but I just don’t understand why everyone is now using the “Simple sentence. Simple sentence. Simple sentence. Simple clause, conjunction, simple clause.” style of writing. It’s annoying.

So, where is the creepiness? The scares? This book feels written as a movie.
