This book is SOOO YA. It fits right in there and hasn't stood out to me as anything special, so far. It's cool to read about a specific time in the history of Detroit, but honestly, I'm kind of bored. Why is every ordinary generic teenager in YA somehow extraordinarily special for no good reason?

Relationships are hard. This might just hit too close to life

I'm averaging 10% per day on this book. Maybe I am just not interested in war novels right now, maybe I'm not drawn in by the characters. Perhaps I am just a little ward out on reading right now. I can't really tell at this point.

I'm having a hard time being interested in this. Is it the dual timelines? Or is it because it's slow? I like that I'm reading a time in history I haven't read yet, but i just don't care too much about Ellie. Shouldn't she be more interesting? She supposedly has a haunted past, but that's the only thing keeping me going here.

I've heard about these books for 10+ year from my students. This is my first one, and I'm so glad to be sharing this experience with my son. I like how one "mission" by the master librarians will take 4 books to accomplish. It's a clever way to get kids reading larger book tasks in smaller chunks.

My son likes the pictures, and he connected with the characters right away.

Ez is not as interested in this one. He likes the pictures, but it's more nonfiction-y than our last read. He seems more interested in other books right now

I'm listening to this book on audible to earn the 20 minutes per day challenge reward. It's so hard to listen at 1.0x pace!

I've been looking for an excuse to use an audible credit on this one for a while!
