It sickens me that Chapter 8 is excluded from every screen adaptation of Jane Eyre.

The tenderness of her and Helen’s night holding each other and dining on nectar and ambrosia brings me to tears!

The establishment that Jane gets her strong sense of justice from Ms Temple (a character who is left out of every screen adaptation) is so important to the development of her character!!!

The fact it’s a genre adaptation is fascinating. So many perspectives simultaneously on the same unfolding narrative. Truly a gripping read!
