El-Kurd offers very important, yet underrepresented questions and perspectives on respectability politics, colonialism, racism, mainstream media, tone-policing, bureaucratic oppression, and sympathy to understand the violence committed by the marginalized. El-Kurd was able to weave humor even within heavy topics of mutilation and ethnic cleansing. El-Kurds arguments are applicable to oppressed peoples globally.
