wordy and doesnt get to the point fast enough

reading slow sadly since this year they dont give us daily 20 mins of reading 🫩

book is good, see a lot of details the movie didnt mention, some unnecessary to add but still decent

The boy was at the church and dug in the morning. He shouted to the sky, saying the alchemist left gold at the monastery knowing he would be back, & why he didnt save him from that. Then he heard s voice in the wind say, because then you would never have seen the pyramids. Then he kept digging and…The chest was there, full of gold coins.

He said he wont die, but learn a man shouldnt be so stupid. He said 2 years ago where the boy was, he also had a recurrent dream. He dreamed to travel the fields of spain for a ruined church where shepherds & their sheep slept. He was told if he dug at the roots of a sycamore in a sacristy he would find treasure. They laughed at him & he laughed too since he now knew where his treasure was.

He remembered the alchemist told him what good is money if you will die? So he told the refugees he is digging for treasure. (Btw this happened all the way as the sun was rising) the refugees beat him up, & the leader of the group said to leave him alone since he had no gold & prob stole it. Before they left, the leader said something.

They searched his bags & found the piece of gold (the alchemist told the boy the reason he gave another piece of gold to the monk incase the boy gets robbed again, was bc if he believed if it happens twice itll happen again) They told the boy to keep digging since they thought he might have more gold hidden in the ground.

Then again before they departed the alchemist said where he is bought to tears is the treasure. Soon enough, the boy reached the pyramids and wept. He saw a scarab beetle, which he knew from the desert was a symbol of God. In the dark, there were figures who approached the boy. They were refugees from the tribal wars, & wanted to know what the boy had

The son in the military, who was a centurion, wanted to cure one of his servants illnesses, so he seeked a man who could cure illnesses, who he later found out was the Son of God. He told him “My Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof. But only speak a word & my servant will be healed.” The lesson was, every person has a central role in history & normally they dont know.

He saw in the future his sons poems were famous. But however, when the reign of Tiberius ended, the poet who was the fathers sons poems were forgotten, & it came from his son in the military.

There was a father with a son in the military faraway, & another who was a poet and told the town his stories at the time Tiberius reign was in ancient rome. The father died later on saving a child who almost died from a chariot. He met an angel, who said he was a good man & would grant him any wish. He wished to see his sons words.

The alchemist gave one to the monk for his generosity, to the boy, and another to the monk incase the boy might ever need it. The alchemist kept one piece got himself since he had to return to the desert where there were tribal wars. Before he left, he told the boy something.

The monk at the monastery spoke to the alchemist, who said that they can use the kitchen. The alchemist had a piece of lead in the pan and put a small sliver of the philosophers stone, & it became gold. The alchemist told the boy it was his personal legend, & did it to show it was possible. He split the gold into four parts.

The escorts left & the alchemist said that the boy would now be alone from this point on. & he was 3 hours away from the pyramids. The boy thanked the alchemist for teaching him, but the alchemist said he inly invoked what he knew.

The tribesmen looked where the boy was but he was no longer there. He was speaking to a sand covered sentinel on the other side of camp. The alchemist had found his perfect disciple, & the chief was proud the boy knew the Glory if God. The general bid them farewell with a few escorts, & near the end if the day they reached the coptic monastery.

The boy realized the Soul of the World was part of the Soul of God, & that was him. He could perform miracles. & the wind (or simum the tribesmen called it) blew harder than ever & the story was talked abt for generations.

As the boy turned to the hand that wrote app, he felt the universe fall silent. A current of love took over the boy, & he prayed without words or pleas. He understood the sun, wind & desert were trying to understand the signs written by the hand. Only the hand could perform miracles like turn the boy to wind.

It wasnt love to be static like the desert, or roam the world like the wind, & it wasnt love to see from a distance. Love is what transforms & improves the Soul of the World. He asked the sun to turn him into wind, but the sun didnt know. So the sun told him to speak to the hand that wrote all.

Two officers said they should stop this, but the chief wanted to see the greatness if Allah, & after wanted to fire the men bc true men if the desert were not afraid. The sun said it could speak to the Soul of the World, he gave the soul of the world warmth and she a reason to live. The boy told the sun he did not know love, but he was wise.

Om the third day the tribesmen went to go see the boy. They waited. He asked the desert to turn him into wind, the desert said he could help the wind by blowing sand, but he needed to talk to the wind instead. The wind acknowledged its own limitations irritably, & told the boy it may be better to speak to the heavens and lifted the boy, & he told it fill the place with a sandstorm to cover the sun from blinding him

The first day passed & the boy still didnt know how to become wind, there was also a major battle nearby. The alchemist said he wasnt worried since he already knew how to become wind. The 2nd day, the boy climbed to the top of a cliff near the camp, and many feared him. He spent the entire afternoon listening to his heart, & felt the desert sensed his fear; they were speaking the same language.

The alchemist answered then he would have died trying to achieve his personal legend unlike others, but not to worry since death made people more aware of their life.

The alchemist said to give them 3 days & if he doesnt become wind and destroy the camp the men could take their life. They accepted. The boy was anxious he had only three days to become wind & destroy the camp or they would die. The alchemist said dont give in to your fears or you cant talk to your heart. The boy asked what if he just cant?

He said he was an alchemist & the boy bought money fir the tribe, they realized it could buy them a lot if weapons so they accepted. The alchemist said since the boy is an alchemist, he could destroy the camp simply with wind. The men did not believe them. The chief said to do it then, but there was a small fear in the tribesmen hearts.

As the sun set, tribesmen exponentially grew. Even from their eyes in the distance, it spoke of death. The two were taken to the chief holding a meeting with his staff. They said they were spies since they were seen with the enemy camp 3 days ago. The tribeman asked who the boy was. The alchemist said an alchemist.

“The desert used to be a sea.” He told the boy to hold a seashell to his ear to hear the sea. “The sea has lived on in this shell, because that’s it’s personal legend. & it will never cease doing so until the desert is once again covered by water.”
