This book is filled with misogynia. First it spends time describing how a woman has aged and uses imagery of worn out things, honey color hair fading to titanium and she losing her sparkle had it very rough and all that jazz and in the next fucking moment glorifies men who age and they become dignified silver foxes. Fuck this book.

I just can’t esit for this book to end, I mean I’m so done hearing the same characters called their full names all the time. The book has quite a misogynistic view of women and I think it’s not only the period it describes, but the writers own thoughts. I’ve been rolling my eyes a lot. I’m slso bored.

I mesn the prose is beautiful and I greatly enjoy the storytelling (and a bump into Oscar Wilde?!) but what I do not enjoy is the concept of raping a virgin man that leads to a continuing intimate arrangement. And he starts caribg for her. Just let that one sink in a bit. Also the MMC is an obsessive asshole that no woman in the history of mankind would want to keep chasing them. It really is creepy and unsettling.

Amazing writing!

This book is for people who like to read about life in a mellow and safe way, without too much action or a bug plot.

Listening to the audiobook. This book is definitely not for me. The writing is beautiful and characters and moods are nice and skillfully crafted, but it’s just all too comfortable and saccharine. The most edgy thing there is that the main characters mum had multiple husbands. Life is hard and challengibg but all these characters have evaded it all. I’m so bored and I would escape these people in real life.

This book is fucked up. Seriously.

This is horrifying. But good. But horrifying.

I don’t want to know that the meat has feelings 😭
