Oh, Olga, I like you! 🤣 I think we're kindred spirits, maybe. This book makes me feel better.

Ironically, this was the book sitting next to the Adam Grant book I was *supposed* to get, but if you see a book titled "Weird," you go for it first. My protocol did not disappoint.

This book profiles people with disabilities, fish thrown out of the dinky pond and into a hot pot.

In 530 BC, Pythagoras theorized that all heredity comes from the father's sperm and the mother only provides nutrients; this was called "spermism." Natch. Then Aristotle argued that a fetus receives material from the father and messages from the mother. Then the theory of "preformation" became popular during the 1600s-- homunculuses everywhere! Mendel sucked at biology until he met Doppler at UofVienna.

An interesting look at the 'study' of eugenics in the mid-to-late 1800s?
