Book 1
Didn’t really know what to expect when picking up this book but am thoroughly impressed with how the world is being built. So much information is being thrown at the reader but it all seems to lead to something much bigger. For the time period I’m not too surprised by the treatment of non-white folk but it still is jarring to read. Themes: imperialism, power of translation, violence, resistance, race.
