To me Squealer is a figurative metaphor of propaganda

The way Animal Farm is written is so clever because the atmosphere progressively goes from light to dark and anxious. You can’t tell exactly when it shifts but you just feel it.the same way people back then lived it.
This book just shows how important education is because of how it quickly becomes clear that the more educated the animals are, the better they could articulate their thoughts and at times, manipulate

The way they progressively take on « human habits » such as becoming literate, developing war strategies, taking up arms, and even creating artillery storage, and finally having medals and commemorations, shows how they are slowly turning into what they hate.

You can choose choices but not outcomes

I already had a bad feeling about that life but watching the whole story unfold was heartbreaking #ripizzy

Wow, that chapter was devastating, especially the part where you can tell Nora understood Mrs Elm’s point: Volts loved her so much that he kept his distance so she wouldn’t have to see him dying. And he acted the same way in both her real life and the one she tried out.

The beginning of that chapter was hard to start with but worth it because at least now she’s realizing how big of a red flag he’s always been !

The universe tended towards chaos and entropy. That was basic thermodynamics. Maybe it was basic existence too. You lose your job, then more shit happens.

Giovanni casually showing how misogynistic, sexist and a woman beater he is was NOT on my bingo card. Now I’m disgusted by his character

My interpretation of Jacque’s character is that he represents the protagonist, David’s future if he keeps on lying to himself about his sexuality

Learning that Giovanni is going to die as I go further into the story has put me in a new level of sorrowness

I’m so in love with that collab between Junji Ito and Kihara : the physical copy is so well done I don’t even regret not reading it on my kobo. Every details is so beautiful and goes well with the title. I’ve just finished « stitch 4 » and wow it was moving : less horrific than it was emotional !

By the way those men treat her making her body more valuable than her actual persona, I’m so thrilled everytime I see her use that « hunger » of theirs to attain her goals. It still is sad that women had and still do have to go to those extents hoping to be treated the same way their male colleagues are

I’m starting to pick up on a pattern : she’s had 7 marriages because all these men wanted to possess her, get a hold of her beauty. It’s so sad because it feels like so far except harry Cameron, most just liked the idea of her whilst she was yearning to live a happy love story with someone (she did with don -at first-)
