Chapter 2 summary: human breasts evolved because 1 sweat glands -> nutrients -> nipples. 2 They became fatty because of sexual selection as fatty breasts are not seen in other mammals.

I missed science! Some key points
- sexual reproduction is so costly in comparison to asexual reproduction, yet it has evolved over and over and over again in many species from fish, plants, mammals, etc… so why? Genetic variation!! The key to long term success in any population. I love being reminded of why I love (evolutionary) biology and learning about it in nonhuman animals.

Funny!

I’m struggling to love this book. It’s good but something isn’t clicking for me.

I could tell from the writing the author has a PhD. I am enjoying the protagonist’s self discovery and the themes of immigration and racism, which I was not expecting.

A relatable coming of age story so far from the perspective of an 18 year old girl lost and alone in Copenhagen. A good book so far that is helping me get back into reading.
