Slow going but it does read like a toolbox rather than a connected narrative. Thinking about it now, I should have treated this book like a reference, looking up techniques as my situation demands it, rather than try to go through each chapter one by one. But, oh well.

Very interesting so far. Currently on "burst communication", a new concept for me. I passed by the Pomodoro technique that I have practiced during my undergrad days (I should get back to that...)

Super surprised when my country is mentioned. At this point, my country will be largely known because of its infamous presidents - Marcos and Duterte, and as a young Filipino that is distressing and sobering at turns.

Back at it but I am struggling to finish this.

The author really has a way with words. But at this point, chapter 20, I am really wondering why she has not quit yet.

I finished "The Long and Painful Death", "The Parting Gift", and "Walk the Blue Fields". Up next is "Dark Horses". I think it will take me some time to finish this short story collection because my schedule is getting more and more unwieldy, but it is taking my all to not just curl up and read the entire book.

We are stronger together - this was basically the whole message of this book. A very timely topic given how many governments look at immigration nowadays.
