i take back what i said earlier haha in no world do we need vivid descriptions of jude cutting beaners! what we need is peace and love. It reads as so fucking gratuitous and disgusting especially bc i can assume most people reading this have never had an issue with self harm. i keep asking myself what it's for.... and i have no clue

I can tolerate it now because we're starting to really get into it with jude and every time he talks about his chronic pain or self harm addiction im like "heh..." . i see a criticism of this book being like, why would u put ur character through hell for a million pages? and while the literary merits of such a work are up for debate,for what it's worth this whole endeavor for me.... is an exercise in sadomasochism
