Well, some of the information here I knew, it was fascinating to see how their friendship and rivalries all played out throughout the first few decades of their careers. As expected, Steven seems like a good egg. George seems like a moody little bitch. Although I still love him. And Francis seems unhinged. Ha ha.

Look, she went through a lot. We get it. But this was some serious trauma dumping with zero reflection or perspective. Like, I desperately want her to get therapy bc she's still going through it.
Consider reading it and not listening to the audiobook as her sneering, sarcastic, raging reading was honestly hard to get through.

I found this book really frustrating.
The tag line reads "Why We Went Out" so it seems like this would be an insightful study on why we went to gay bars as gay ppl and before grindr etc. instead it's a random history of queer culture, gay bars, and tut author's own memoir including his many sexual conquests. In detail. He's not famous so I could care less who he's had sex with and it felt like sad bragging.
