I like the way the story is moving along... This would be a good book for anyone learning Spanish, bc the chapters are short and a lot of the writing is conversational. Some of the scenes are drawn-out & slow, but there's a lot of useful vocab & phrases.

It took to about 30% of the way through for me to be more interested & invested in the story. It's a good story, and the characters have depth and are interesting. There is something about the vibe or the writing that I can't quite put my finger on... I'm a native English speaker and maybe this is a different dialect? I'm also taking more notes than usual. BUT it's definitely getting more interesting :)

Would prefer a female protagonist, but I like the story and it's free on Kindle Unlimited, Plus, I get to learn lots of new vocab & phrases!

I'm only 5% of the way through but I like the story so far :)

Short Chapters

I'll likely take my time with this one and take notes, write new phrases in my notebook, really learn some Spanish and not just breeze through it.

I like the vibe of the book and the setting. Lots of detail about what people are wearing and how the houses are decorated. Different storylines here and there. Lots of characters to keep track of. Light on the supernatural in my opinion. Themes of class, loss, mourning, friendship, light on the romance in my opinion. I love having a coffee and being absorbed in this other time period... trying to solve the mystery

Interesting that Mina has lavender growing in her garden, right outside the door, when she also has a dog... dogs cant have lavender.

I like the book so far at 19% of the way through. It's SLOW GOING but that's okay. I'm a native English speaker reading in Spanish, and it's a fun book. I love having a cup of coffee and just taking my time being immersed in the story. Will update!
