do y’all know how hard it is to find time to read when you work at a bookstore??

slow moving because i’ve been reading this at work during down time but these essays are half “wow what an incredible thought-provoking insight” and half “men discover this in their 50s and women discover this at 12”

my god.

i’m taking my sweet time with this, trying to read it only in the morning or when i’m at work and want to look cool. its made me homesick in ways i can’t really describe

i actually am not allowed to refer to myself as caribbean until i finish this

i’ve not been reading this as quickly as i usually do, but i feel like that’s more my fault and less ms henry’s. i’m having fun though! it’s good!

really cute so far!! not really getting a romance vibe tbf; feels much more like litfic with people who will definitely bone approximately halfway through this book

it’s giving miss congeniality with less women camaraderie and more asshole men. not too bad

i absolutely went into this expecting slop. i went in with bias and spite in my heart. i was wrong. this is funny. it’s witty. it’s endearing. i’m quite happy so far

currently i have a lot of feelings about mrs bennett as the villain, seeing how she is a deeply misunderstood female character. but im enjoying this characterization of mary enough to try to ignore it
